Scotch Doubles league begins tonight 05/01 at Slicks Fountain View. No combined Fargo cap for teams with a chance to win a trip to Puerto Rico and/or cash tournament at the end of the session for members in good standings with the league. The USAPL Open 8 ball tournament to win free dues for Summer Session will take place Sat 05/06 at Slicks Fountain View. Doors open at 10 AM, tournament starts 11 AM. Double Elimination, USAPL paper scoring. Best of luck to all participants!

We are still looking for volunteers to join a 10th team. With playoffs no longer in the picture, the top 2 teams will automatically qualify for the year end team VQT. We would also like to remind everyone that the 8 matches minimum is still a Nationals requirement. There will be 2 more sessions this year (Summer & Fall) in order to get those qualifications met. A reminder for tomorrow’s 10 ball Singles Qualifier taking place at Slicks Montrose at noon. Entry fee of $25.00 per person, double elimination, USAPL paper scoring. Winner of this tournament will qualify for Singles VQT at the end of the year.
April’s Singles Board will be on Saturday, 04/08/23 starting at NOON at BIGGLES. It will also be 10 ball, double elimination, entry fee of $25.00 per person, USAPL paper scoring. There will be a Crawfish Fundraiser happening at the time of the tournament run by Biggles. There will also be an open 8 ball tournament happening that evening at 8 PM, run by our very own Steven K.
Scotch Doubles division is in the works! It will be taking place on MONDAYS starting at 7:30 PM @ Slicks on Fountain View. Max handicap of 1,100. There will be a yearly membership fee of $25.00 (BCA membership fee) on top of the weekly dues of $15.00 per player. This is for the Carribbean Championships taking place in November in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Teams are forming, so please contact the league op to get signed up!
With the new session right around the corner, we would like to try and continue growing the league. We currently have a waiting list of interested players without a team to go to. Therefore, we would like to offer any team member to voluntarily leave their current team and join a brand new 10th team. For your efforts, we will offer free league play after 10 matches played on the new team for one session. No worries – we will make sure to fill out all teams as needed the best we can!
The aim of this is twofold:
– 1. This allows the new team to have some established players who know how the league operates without a whole team of newbies scrambling to figure things out on their own; and
– 2. This allows players to become established members of the new team and also qualify for Vegas.
We know that team dynamic is very important. We also know that stagnancy can breed boredom – we would never want that to happen. We hope that by offering the opportunity for volunteers to join a new team, we will have new dynamics to experience. Please reach out to us if you’re interested!

And welcome back to Alex M! We’re glad you joined us!We have an update from Vegas referees regarding 9 ball play. There is no re-rack for 9 ball. If there is a foul on the break where less than 4 balls touch a rail, it is ball in hand to the opponent and the rack gets played as is, no re-racking. If it’s a miscue on the break, then it is ball in hand to the opponent and opponent can break the existing rack. This is for 9 ball only; re-rack is still an option in 8 ball.
We have our next Singles Boards scheduled! Next Saturday 03/18 at noon at Slicks Montrose, it will be 10 ball double elimination. Again, it is $25.00 per person to participate – USAPL scoring on paper. Winner of each Singles Boards tournament will qualify for the Singles VQT to play for a chance to win Vegas 2024.
We are gauging interest in a SCOTCH DOUBLES format for PUERTO RICO in November. It will be 8 ball, and the winning duo of the division will be sent to Puerto Rico to represent H-Town. Max handicap combined of 1100. If you’re interested, please contact the league op! We are looking at another night at either Slicks Montrose or Slicks Fountainview. Please provide us with your preferred location and day.

As a reminder, after tonight 02/14, we will have TWO WEEKS OFF due to Nationals. League will resume Tuesday 03/07.
We are starting SINGLES QUALIFIERS this year! This is to qualify for SINGLES event in Vegas Nationals in 2024. Throughout the year (looking at a minimum of once per month), we will have Singles Tournaments for 8, 9, and 10 ball. Winners of those tournaments will play against each other in a Singles VQT (Vegas Qualifying Tournament) at the end of the year or beginning of next year. Our goal is to send at least one person per discipline, depending on the number of participants we have. Entry into any of our Singles Qualifier is $25 per person.
Our first Singles Qualifier will be Tuesday 02/21/23 at 7:30 PM at Slicks Montrose. This is a 9 ball single elimination tournament, USAPL scoring.
The second Singles Qualifier will be Tuesday 02/28/23 at 7:30 PM at Slicks Montrose. This is also a 9 ball single elimination tournament, USAPL scoring.

Scores have been updated!This Saturday 01/14 is the Vegas Qualifying Tournament for 9 Ball, held at Biggles (6150 Wilcrest). Doors open at 10 AM, tournament starts at 11 AM. This past weekend was our 2022 Vegas Qualifying Tournament for 8 ball, held at Slicks @ Montrose. Please congratulate team SHOT FOR SHOT in winning the VQT to go to Vegas this February to represent Houston! They went from the loser’s bracket all the way to win it all after forcing a double dip. It was an event that ran from 10 AM Sat to 4 AM Sun. We would like to thank the staff at Slicks for their understanding and support in this long tournament. We also would like to congratulate all the participants for playing their best. Next year, the VQT will take place over the span of a weekend. Next tournament will be the VQT for 9 ball this coming Sat at Biggles on Wilcrest. Tournament starts at 11 AM, doors open at 10 AM. There is a kitchen on premise as well as a restaurant next door so catering is not provided. Reminder that it will be 2 divisions being ran at the same time (9 ball and 10 ball). There will be a quick pre-tournament meeting as well.

The Vegas Qualifying Tournament for 8 ball will be taking place this Saturday 01/07 at Slicks Montrose starting at 10 AM. Please come out and support your league members! We will be there all day, so it would be great to see everyone throughout the day.
The 10 ball B&R is currently at $354.00 per ball. Good luck to the next drawn contestant!

Hello to Spring 2023! As usual, we will be having a league opener pow-wow before play starts. We will NOT be having our 10 ball B&R this week as first weeks are usually hectic. The 10 B&R will resume next week.As with every new session, we have our 8 ball open tournament for all active USAPL members. First place winner will be free dues for the remainder of the session. Mark your calendars for Sat 01/21 at Slicks Montrose. More details will be provided later tonight.
